Alteration and Remodeling of Residential Unit at Victoria Garden City, Lekki Lagos

Description:

This is an alteration and remodelling exercise to an existing residential dwelling in the woods of the prestigious Victoria garden city; Lagos - Nigeria. It also involved attention to failing structural components of the building.

The exercise is a practical cosmetic celebration of the entrance, and sides facades to re-awaken the architectural spirit of the building. This was achieved by a delicate balance of facade components, which also addressed failed structural components of the building.

This is demonstrated with a new organically-finished structural wall on the front facade, and also the structural inclusion of support columns to resist further deflection observed on the ageing residential building.

A bit of facade relief works by way of differential block sizes was also introduced to the external walls to exude a rejuvenated beauty of the building.
